PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 14, 2012 — State Sen. Mike Stack today said he was pleased that two significant health care providers, Aria Health and Bravo Health, have reached an agreement that will ensure the continuation of coverage and care for the many patients who rely on both providers.

Aria Health is the largest health care provider in Northeast Philadelphia and Lower Bucks County. Bravo Health is one of the country’s largest Medicare Advantage coordinated care plans. Their contract was set to terminate on Aug. 15, but the two providers just announced a new multi-year contract.

“I’m grateful that these two health care providers were able to come to an agreement without interrupting patient care,” Stack said. “Many of the residents in my district, especially senior citizens, were worried about the impact of a contract termination on their health care. Thankfully, Aria and Bravo will continue to provide local residents with the same quality care that they have come to expect.”

Stack, the Democratic chairman of the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee, sent a letter last month to Aria Health President and CEO Kathleen Kinslow and Bravo Health President Jason Fuerman expressing his concerns over the impact of a split between the two providers.
