Stack Announces State Funds for Local Commercial Heat Treatment Facility
Philadelphia, Sept. 14, 2011— A Northeast Philadelphia commercial heat treatment facility has been awarded state funding to improve energy efficiency, state Sen. Mike Stack announced today.
Donovan Heat Treating Company, Inc., located at 7399 Tulip St., was awarded a $423,375 loan toward the upgrade and rebuilding of an energy efficient furnace. The project will reduce natural gas consumption by 30 to 35 percent and create eight new jobs.
“Donovan Heat Treating Company is an established business in our community that has been providing metallurgical services to both local and international customers for decades,” Stack said. “This funding will help it run more efficiently while reducing their reliance on natural gas, and that’s good news for both their customers in the manufacturing industry and our environment.”
The funds were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) under the Alternative and Clean Energy Program.
