| PHILADELPHIA, JAN. 3, 2008 — Responding to citizen concerns over congested traffic conditions at a busy Northeast intersection, state Sen. Mike Stack today announced that a left hand turn signal has been installed on southbound Frankford Avenue at the intersection of Academy Road.
“I received numerous calls from constituents about the lack of a signal at this intersection,” Stack said. “Because Frankford Avenue and Academy Road are heavily traveled arteries, it is only common sense to add a left turn light to help ease traffic congestion.”
The senator worked with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Philadelphia Department of Streets to get the signal installed.
“I am happy to work with PennDOT and the city to ensure that motorists have a better, safer ride,” Stack said. “More importantly, I thank my constituents for bringing this issue to my attention.”
