Sen. Stack Announces Amnesty Window for Delinquent Taxpayers
Harrisburg, April 20, 2010 - Starting next week, individuals who are delinquent on their state taxes will have a window of opportunity to pay their back taxes without penalties and only half of the interest, according to state Sen. Mike Stack.
“This is a unique opportunity for individuals and businesses to pay their delinquent taxes without penalty and for the state to generate some much-needed revenue,” Stack said. “I urge delinquent taxpayers to take advantage of this window of opportunity.”
The Pennsylvania Tax Amnesty Program, which is available between April 26 and June 18, is available to all individuals, businesses and other entities with Pennsylvania tax delinquencies as of June 30, 2009. It is intended to generate $190 million toward balancing the current state budget, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
Starting April 26, taxpayers can access the Tax Amnesty application at www.PATaxPayUp.com. Paper applications are not available.
