Stack: Central Library Offeres Free Workshops for Job Seekers

PHILADELPHIA, NOV. 12, 2009 — Adult job seekers can take advantage of upcoming free workshops that are offered at the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Central Branch, according to state Sen. Mike Stack.

“Whether individuals are unemployed and seeking practical advice or looking to make a change in their jobs, they will certainly receive informative tips from these helpful workshops,” Stack said. “I encourage anyone who needs a boost in their job search to attend these workshops. It will be worth the trip to Center City.”

Workplace Wednesdays are designed to help individuals learn more about changing careers, conducting a job search, developing a resume and more.

The workshops, which are open to the public, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Central Branch, located at 1901 Vine St. in Center City, on the following dates:

  • Nov. 18: Resume Critique. Fourth floor, Skyline Room. Bring copies of your resume to participate in this workshop.
  • Dec. 2: Job Hunting Tips & Techniques. Fourth floor, Skyline Room
  • Dec. 9: Interviewing Skills. Fourth floor, Skyline Room
  • Dec. 16: Computer and Internet Resources for Jobs and Careers. Ground floor, Tech Lab, Room 14. Some computer and keyboarding skills required. Computer access for the first 12 participants who arrive.
