Stack: Grant Available for Youth Programs in Bridesburg

HARRISBURG, MAY 13, 2009 - State Sen. Mike today encouraged non-profit organizations devoted to youth to apply for the Community Partnership Initiative (CPI).

The $30,000 grant, which is geared toward youth education and recreation programs, is available to organizations in the Bridesburg and Wissinoming communities.

“These programs are essential for providing our children with quality recreation opportunities and ensuring community development,” Stack said. “This is a great incentive for organizations seeking to develop or enhance their youth programs, and I strongly encourage eligible organizations to submit an application.”

Eligibility requirements and online applications are available at the CPI initiative Web site, www.rohmhaas.com, or by calling Cynthia Giroud at 215-416-7997. The deadline for applications is June 26, 2009.

The Community Partnership Initiative is funded by Rohm and Haas Company, a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company and is awarded to organizations committed to developing community recreation and educational programs. Past recipients include the Bridesburg Boys and Girls Club: “FitTeen Program” and Musicopia: “Adventures in Great Music.”

Over the past decade, the CPI has provided over $300,000 to communities of Bridesburg and lower Wissinoming.
