HARRISBURG, MAY 11, 2009 - Individuals who are seeking property tax or rent relief via state-awarded Property Tax/Rent Rebates can now check the status of their applications online, according to state Sen. Mike Stack.
The new Web resource, www.papropertytaxrelief.com, is hosted by the Department of Revenue and allows applicants to check their rebate status as soon as six weeks after submitting their application.
“The Department of Revenue has taken a positive step toward enhancing customer service,” Stack said. “This new Web site will be an invaluable resource to Pennsylvanians, and I encourage individuals who apply for the rebates to take advantage of it.”
Constituents can check the status of their rebate by visiting www.papropertytaxrelief.com and entering their Social Security number, anticipated rebate amount and date of birth. Individuals can then obtain claim status confirmation, the actual amount of the rebate the date the rebate is expected to be mailed or direct deposited.
Applicants can also use an automated phone service to check their rebate status by calling, toll-free, 1-888-PATAXES.
Rebate checks will be distributed by the Department of Revenue beginning on July 1, 2009.
