Stack Presents Funding to Bridesburg Boys & Girls Club

PHILADELPHIA, MARCH 4, 2009 — State Sen. Mike Stack recently obtained state funding for the Bridesburg Boys & Girls Club.

The $12,000 grant, provided by the Department of Community and Economic Development, will be used to support the organization’s operations.

“For decades, the Bridesburg Boys & Girls Club has been a neighborhood of activity for children and adults alike, offering a variety of educational and recreational programs,” Stack said. “I’m so pleased to obtain this funding so that our children have the opportunity and the equipment to enjoy the activities that the center offers.”

The senator presented the grant at a Bridesburg Boys & Girls Club fund raiser on Feb. 27 at the Polonia social club, located at 4431 Belgrade St. in Bridesburg.

“Bridesburg is a close-knit community that has many local amenities to offer its neighbors, and this funding will ensure that the next generation of young residents has a safe place to go like the Boys & Girls Club,” Stack said.
