Stack is Sworn-In to 3rd Consecutive Senate Term

HARRISBURG, January 6, 2009: State Sen. Mike Stack today was sworn into his third consecutive term serving Pennsylvania’s 5th Senate District.

“It is such an honor to be serving the people of this great and diverse community,” Stack said.  “I vow to continue to look out for their best interests as I work with my colleagues to tackle some of the tough issues facing Pennsylvania.”

Stack said that he will continue to advocate for senior citizens, education, health care and jobs.

Stack was re-appointed Democratic chairman of the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee for the 2009-10 legislative session.  He will hold this leadership position in addition to his recently announced new appointment as Democratic vice chairman of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee.

In addition to Appropriations and Banking and Insurance, Stack’s other committee assignments include Aging and Youth, Judiciary, Labor and Industry, Law and Justice, and Policy.
