Senate Democrats Seek Job Creation, Education, Safety Net Dollars in Budget Discussions

Harrisburg, April 17, 2013 – Senate Democrats’ 2013-14 budget priorities are heavily weighted toward job creation, education investments, strengthening the social-services safety net, modernizing liquor sales and refocusing Pennsylvania’s business tax menu to help small businesses, they announced today at a Capitol news conference.

Stack Honors Holocaust Survivors

HARRISBURG, April 8, 2013 — State Sen. Mike Stack today presented resolutions to five Holocaust survivors from throughout Pennsylvania during the commonwealth’s annual Holocaust commemoration at the state Capitol.

“The atrocities that took place at the hands of the Nazi regime are unfathomable; that these horrifying and tragic moments took place in modern times is even more unsettling.

Stack Criticizes Russian Roulette Approach to Medicaid by Corbett

HARRISBURG, April 4, 2013 – State Sen. Mike Stack said today the governor is putting people’s lives in jeopardy by dragging his feet on the Medicaid expansion issue.

“By taking so long to do what other states have decided was a no-brainer, Gov. Corbett is playing political games with hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians’ lives,” Stack (D-Philadelphia) said.

Stack Says Corbett is Robbing Seniors

HARRISBURG, April 3, 2013 — State Sen. Mike Stack today called Gov. Tom Corbett’s raiding of nearly $3 million from Pennsylvania’s seniors to pay consultants involved in the dead-end lottery privatization plan outrageous and immoral.

“The $3 million Corbett has paid consultants — for nothing — is the worst example of government waste and is taking money directly from the pockets of senior citizens,” said Stack.
